For anglers, the pond is stocked with various native freshwater fish species such as striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus), called “trey pra” in Khmer, and spotted pangasius (Pangasius larnaudii), known locally as “trey po”, as well as silver barb (Barbonymus gonionotus), which goes by the local name of “trey chhpin”. The pond is also stocked with Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a fish native to Africa which was first introduced into the Mekong River Basin for aquaculture purposes in 1965.
